To produce great wines in the New World, the company acquired one of the oldest and most prestigious estates in the Stellenbosch region, the Franschhoek estate, founded by French settlers towards the end of the 17th century. The wine is made from a majority percentagea majority of Merlot grapes, integrated with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec, according to the traditional custom of classic Bordeaux blends.
