Bianco di Torgiano 'Torre di Giano' Lungarotti 2024
Torre di Giano by Lungarotti is a light and fruity white wine that expresses the territory of Torgiano. It is made from a blend of Grechetto, Vermentino, and Trebbiano aged in steel for a few months. Fragrant notes of white fruit and citrus enliven a fresh, dry, and very delicate sip.
The Torre di Giano by Lungarotti is a fresh and juicy white wine, which makes extreme drinkability its strong point. The Lungarotti winery, founded in 1962 by Giorgio Lungarotti, has always been synonymous with quality and consistency in the level of wines produced, as well as one of the most renowned in the entire Italian wine scene. An impressive estate of 250 hectares with vineyards located between Torgiano and Montefalco, always with an eye on sustainability and biodiversity, as well as the enhancement of native grape varieties interspersed with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Pinot Grigio vines. A wide range of products that meet all tastes, ranging from simpler and more drinkable expressions to others that are more complex and suitable for aging.
The Torre di Giano white comes from a blend of Vermentino, Trebbiano, and Grechetto with vines grown on clay soils. A fresh and light wine, produced after a careful selection of the bunches in the vineyard followed by destemming and pressing, using only the free-run must for fermentation. The cryomaceration in steel allows for the cold extraction of the freshest aromas from the grapes, and is followed by aging in the same containers. After a very brief resting period in glass, the liquid is put on the market.
The Torre di Giano wine pours into the glass with a pale straw yellow color, edged with greenish reflections. The nose is immediately extremely lively and fruity, displaying notes of citrus, with lime standing out as well as fresh white-fleshed fruit. In the second instance, white flowers and a refreshing balsamic vein emerge. A slender and juicy sip, it has the ability to flow on the palate and immediately entice for another sip, thanks to a light structure enlivened by freshness and sapidity. A beautiful everyday wine, suitable for aperitifs or delicate fish dishes such as carpaccio or lightly dressed white fish.
