Blauschiefer Meyer-Nakel 2019
Meyer-Nakel's Blauschiefer is a red wine made in Germany from Pinot Noir grown on soils rich in slate and decomposed stones, which lend minerality and slight smoky overtones to the wine. It is full and enveloping on the palate, with a juicy, harmonious mouthfeel supported by soft, velvety tannins, while notes of red fruit, blueberries, blackberries and cherries under spirits stand out on the nose, accompanied by hints of spice due to aging in wood. A wine to pair with red meat dishes or a board of medium-aged cheeses
