"Scalabrone" is a rosé wine from Tuscany rich in aromas, a famous expression of the Guado al Tasso winery. The bouquet includes hints of cherries, small red fruits, and aromatic herbs. The taste is characterized by excellent freshness and savoriness, with juicy and fruity aromatic returns.
The Bolgheri Rosato “Scalabrone” from the Tenuta Guado al Tasso of the Antinori family is a rosé that well represents the territory of this corner of the Tuscan Coast. It is, in fact, made with three international grape varieties that have made Bolgheri famous: Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives elegance and structure, Merlot, which offers soft fruity notes, and Syrah, which helps enrich the bouquet with a touch of spices. The result is a rich, fruity rosé full of intriguing aromatic facets. At the table, it pairs very well with a platter of flavorful Tuscan cured meats, with white meats, or with seafood stews in tomato sauce.
The Rosato “Scalabrone” is born in the heart of the Tenuta Guado al Tasso, a splendid estate located in the territory of Castagneto Carducci, between the Bolgherese road and the Aurelia. The vineyards of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah are cultivated in the Bolgheri amphitheater, on soils of rather heterogeneous origin, predominantly alluvial, characterized by the presence of sands, silt, clays, and abundant skeleton. The three grape varieties are harvested and vinified separately, following the different ripening periods. At the end of destemming, soft pressing is carried out with brief contact with the skins to extract all the aromas. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16 °C. Afterwards, blending takes place, and the wine rests for a few months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
The Bolgheri Rosato “Scalabrone”, made by Antinori at the Tenuta Guado al Tasso, is a label that confirms the tradition of the Tuscan Coast area in the production of great rosés with a marine and Mediterranean profile. In the glass, it presents a beautiful bright pink color. The bouquet is intense and fine, with aromas of rose petals, raspberry, red currant, wild strawberries, marasca, pomegranate, hints of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub, and a spicy touch. The taste is clear and savory, with ripe and generous fruit, which unfolds harmoniously towards a fresh finish with good persistence tasting. It is the ideal label for those who love rich and complex rosés.
