This “Rute” Bolgheri Rosso Guado al Melo originates from a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, to which 20% Merlot is added. The grapes of these varieties grow on the Bolgheri hills, characterized by an alluvial subsoil rich in organic matter. Among the rows, the climate is Mediterranean, refreshed by Tyrrhenian winds and characterized by a good temperature range between day and night. After a gentle pressing, the must ferments in steel at controlled temperatures, macerating on the skins. It then ages for 12 months in used wood remaining on the lees, and after bottling it continues to mature for 6 months directly in glass.
The Bolgheri Rosso “Rute” Guado al Melo presents itself to the eye with a ruby color, crossed by some slight reflections tending more towards purple, visible at the rim. The nose moves around touches of red and black berry fruit, enriched by spicy hints and references to toasted wood.
