Guado al Melo

Guado al Melo is located in the heart of the DOC Bolgheri and has proven to be a truly surprising wine reality of the denomination. The winery, charming and artistic in terms of architecture and design, is led by Michele Scienza and his father Attilio, a historic and renowned professor of viticulture and owner of a vast library dedicated to oenology housed within the winery itself. The cultural-artistic journey created between the vineyards and the winery makes Guado al Melo a true gem of Bolgheri, so much so that it earned the award for Emerging Winery in 2016 from Gambero Rosso.

The vineyards of Guado al Melo follow the dictates of sustainable and traditional agriculture. The quality and care of the vineyards are extremely high, with vines dominated by the classic Bolgheri grapes, along with other Mediterranean and Caucasian varieties. In the vineyards, grass is grown under the vines to avoid soil cultivation, herbicides, and to ensure the water balance of the soil, fundamental for the ecosystem of the entire territory.

In the winery Guado al Melo the wines are produced using traditional methods, without invasive treatments or filtrations: the wines are clarified only through successive racking. The range of wines is truly of remarkable quality, with original and sincere wines, a full expression of the territory from which they were born. Notable and impressive is the Bolgheri Rosso Superiore “Atis”, a true flagship of this beautiful winery.
