Address Le Cap Blanc - 46090 - Villesèque (France)

Clos Troteligotte is located in Villesèque, in the Cahors area, a famous Appellation in the southwest region of France. Created in 1987, estate spreads over beautiful sunny reliefs occupying the area between the Vallée du Lot and the Causses du Quercy Blanc. Emmanuel Rybinski, owner of the estate, produces wines with an outspoken character that perfectly reflect the traditions of the area with red and white grape varieties that have been present in the region for centuries. Lively and expressive wines, the offspring of careful work in the vineyard, which allows grapes of excellent quality to be harvested. The vineyards have been managed in certified organic farming queens since 2014, and in 2017 biodynamic certification was added. Special attention is also paid to biodiversity, thanks to the presence of no less than 15 hectares of woods surrounding the vineyards.

The area planted with vines covers 19 hectares, in one of the highest areas of the Cahors territory, at an altitude of about 350 meters above sea level, characterized by a cool, sunny climate and highly vocated soils. Beginning in 2004, a zoning study was conducted on the estate's soils, to highlight their different characteristics and then be able to vinify the various plots separately and make the most of each vineyard. Thanks to this work, different soil types were identified: kimméridgien clay-limestone, sidérolithique clay-limestone and stampien clay-limestone, connoted by white or gray marls of a lacustrine nature. The soils of the kimméridgien, are the result of fossil-rich marine sediments, similar to those found in Chablis, which give the wines freshness, minerality, savoriness and iodine notes

Moldy clay-limestone soils, found mainly in the Quercy area, are very suitable for the cultivation of white grape varieties, particularly: Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Chardonnay. There are, however, some vineyards of Cabernet Franc, Jurançon Noir, Gamay, Merlot and Malbec. The clay-limestone sidérolithique soils, are the most present on the estate and are marked by an important presence of ferrous elements, which give the wines a mineral and elegant profile. These are the most suitable soils for Malbec and Tannat. The purity and expressiveness of the wines is due not only to the terroir, but also to rigorous cultivation according to biodynamic principles, which allows obtaining genuine and healthy grapes in full respect of the natural environment.
