'Solo Sole' is a Vermentino vinified in purity that comes from the sandy and gravelly soils of the Bolgheri area. It is in this land that the historic winery Allegrini has created an ambitious project named Poggio al Tesoro. The Bolgheri area has always been known for its renowned productive potential and the exceptional value of its soils, similar in composition to those of Bordeaux. The wines produced in this special and historic area will therefore have characteristics of typicity and authenticity linked to the territory of origin.
The 'Solo Sole' from the Poggio al Tesoro winery is a fresh and savory expression of Vermentino from the Bolgheri area. The grapes come from a vineyard of about 7 hectares nicknamed Le Sondraie, characterized by deep soils rich in sand, gravel, and clay of about 13 years of age with a west-facing exposure. In the winery, the grapes are pressed whole cluster and ferment for about 20 days in stainless steel containers with a controlled temperature of 16 degrees. This white will rest for another month in bottle before it can be marketed.
The Vermentino 'Solo Sole' from Poggio al Tesoro is a white wine with interesting minerality and juicy drinkability. In the glass, it presents a straw yellow color with greenish reflections and on the nose offers fruity notes of peach and apricot on a sulfurous base of flint. On the palate, it is precise, dry, and vertical, providing juiciness and a savory finish. The typical brightness of Vermentino is found in the primary aromas of this white, which with freshness and fragrance will ideally accompany fish dishes, both raw and cooked, as well as first courses of pasta with light and vegetable sauces.
