Organic and biodynamic"Les Pins Francs" from the Chateau Jean Faux winery is a Bordeaux Blanc from the Saint-Emilion area. It is made from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon that are pressed in whole clusters and fermented with indigenous yeasts in steel tanks. On the nose, there are hints of ripe white fruit, such as peach, apple, and tropical fruits, accompanied by a floral finish. On the palate, it develops rich and full-bodied, with a persistent structure and excellent freshness.
The Bordeaux Blanc "Les Pins Francs" by Chateau Jean Faux is the result of an ambitious project created by Pascal Collotte and Stéphane Derenoncourt, a famous winemaker and consultant, who decided to create a new domaine in a particularly suited area of Bordeaux. The wine is the most classic expression of the terroir and is characterized by a intensely aromatic profile and a lively mineral freshness, which gives the sip an easy smoothness and immediate drinkability. “Les Pins Francs” is a Bordeaux Blanc that originates near Sainte Radegonde, on the southern bank of the Dordogne, right across from the famous village of Saint-Émilion. Chateau Jean Faux manages an estate of about 12 hectares cultivated in full respect of nature, following the principles of organic farming and biodynamic practices. The cuvée is a classic blend of the territory based on Sauvignon Blanc, integrated with a small percentage of Sémillon. The vines are about 25 years old and are planted on calcareous-clay soils. The harvest is done manually, the grapes are softly pressed, and the free-run must ferments spontaneously using only indigenous yeasts. The wine ages for 12 months in stainless steel tanks without undergoing malolactic fermentation, in order to preserve the clear varietal fragrance of the grapes.
