Brusco' Fattoria dei Barbi 2022
The Brusco by Fattoria dei Barbi is a red wine that is sociable and mainly based on Sangiovese from the Montalcino area, created to offer an interpretation of the Tuscan flagship grape in a light and fresh version. With a ruby red color and slight purple hues, it releases a bouquet of raspberries and currants, enhanced by floral notes, while on the palate it is slender and refreshing, with a very fruity aromatic finish.
The “Brusco” is a red wine that originates from studies conducted during the 1960s and 1970s by Giovanni Colombini, an innovator and pioneer of viticulture on a global scale, on the fermentation of grapes grown in the Montalcino area. Thanks to that research, today Fattoria dei Barbi gives voice to this label, extremely versatile at the table and never excessive, ideal for highlighting with simplicity and frankness the characteristics of the Sangiovese grape.
The “Brusco” comes from a blend dominated by Sangiovese, alongside which we find a very small percentage of other native red grape varieties. The bunches are carefully selected during the manual harvest and are destemmed in the winery. The must obtained from this operation is cooled to a temperature of 16 degrees; this cooling promotes a greater extraction of the anthocyanins and polyphenols present in the grape skins. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel containers and lasts for 16 days. The final aging is carried out in steel tanks, where the wine remains for a few months until bottling.
The “Brusco” by Barbi is a red wine that presents itself visually with a ruby color, not too intense and enriched by slight violet streaks. The small red berry fruit is dominant in a simple and easily readable bouquet, which in the finish is enhanced by some more floral notes. On the palate, it is light-bodied, agile, with a sip that flows pleasantly thanks to a nice harmony; it ends with an aromatic finish, dominated by a fruity taste. A versatile label, perfect for fun evenings with lifelong friends.
