Catarratto Baglio di Pianetto 2024

The Catarratto from Baglio di Pianetto is a wine with fragrant and delicate aromas, which on the palate confirms a pleasant and harmonious drinking experience. We have before us a bottle that well expresses the particular characteristics of the varietal from which it derives, where a typical hint of bread crust emerges on the nose, peculiar to the grape variety. This Catarratto from Baglio di Pianetto originates from those vineyards owned by the winery located in Santa Cristina di Gela, in the province of Palermo. We find ourselves within parcels of medium texture, tending towards clayey, where there is an abundance of skeleton and mineral components. The Catarratto vines grow with the counter-spalliera system with spur pruning following organic farming practices, and the harvest is carried out in three different moments, to create three bases, one acidic, one with good technical maturity, and one slightly overripe. After a soft pressing of the grapes, the must ferments spontaneously at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. The wine finally matures on the fine lees for 3 months in stainless steel tanks.

The Catarratto Baglio di Pianetto presents itself to the eye with a hue reminiscent of straw yellow, characterized by a particular intensity and brightness. The nose is a parade of different aromas, where citrus fruits and aromatic herbs alternate with Mediterranean hints and fruity touches. On the palate, it has a light body, which enters with a savory and fresh finish, characterized by a pleasant fruity taste.
