Bérèche et Fils' Brut Réserve is a classic Champagne, made from a cuvée of equal parts Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier and matured on the lees for 24 months. A label that favours refined freshness and pleasant fragrance, a true expression of the Maison's elegant style. The bouquet is fine with scents of white flowers, delicate fruity aromas, hints of bread crust and light toasty notes. The palate has a lively mineral freshness, with ripe, harmonious fruit and a lingering finish.
Champagne Brut Réserve is produced by the Maison Bérèche et Fils, which for five generations has been producing quality Champagne in Ludes in the heart of the Montagne de Reims area. The estate consists of numerous plots, but the most important vineyards are located in the Premier Cru of Ludes and Ormes in the Montagne de Reims region and others in the Vallée de la Marne area. In particular, grapes from vineyards around 40 years old in the areas of: Ludes (35%), Ormes (30%), Mareuil-le-port (25%), Trépail (10%). After the harvest, the individual plots are vinified, partly in wood and partly in steel, to create the vins clairs. After several months of maturation on the lees, the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier bases are blended, to which 35% reserve wine from previous vintages is added. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Champenoise method with resting on the lees for at least 24 months before dégorgement.
Brut Réserve is the Champagne that best represents the philosophy of the Maison Bérèche et Fils. Thanks to the addition to the cuvée of approximately one third of reserve wines each year, regardless of the characteristics of the vintage, Brut Réserve succeeds in expressing balance, harmony and a good consistency and homogeneity over time, in the pursuit of purity and linearity of expression. In the glass, it has a straw-yellow colour, crossed by a fine and persistent perlage. The nose expresses fruity aromas, floral nuances, hints of bread crust, nuances of vanilla and oriental spices. The palate is chromatic and ripe, with fine progression and persistence. The finish is on savoury and mineral notes.
