Champagne Extra Brut 'Quintette' J-M Seleque
The "Quintette" Champagne is a Blanc de Blancs that owes its name to the 5 villages where Jean-Marc Seleque grows Chardonnay vines over 45 years old. A quintet is also a musical complex, in this case we refer to how the Seleque family, passionate about music, made a harmonious and melodic Champagne from a puzzle of five different terroirs. With an elegant texture, personality and class, it is characterized by sweet and delicate notes of citrus, dried fruit, green apple, savory and mineral traces
The Champagne Extra Brut 'Quintette' by J-M Seleque is a Blanc de Blancs made from pure Chardonnay grapes sourced from old vines that are over 45 years old. The label takes its name from the 5 villages where the parcels that give life to this refined and elegant Champagne are located, but it also betrays Jean Marc's great passion for music, well represented by the melodic harmony of a Quintet. The cuvée ages for 48 months on the lees, bestowing all the richness and maturity of the finest Chardonnays. It is a Champagne that captivates with its notes of citrus, yellow fruit, nuances of dried fruit, and a clear mineral vein.
The Extra Brut 'Quintette' is a Champagne produced by a small family maison, which works with artisanal care and love for the territory. Following in the footsteps of two generations of vignerons, Jean-Marc Seleque founded the Maison in 2008 with the intent to maximize the potential of the 9 hectares of the domaine, to produce Champagne with a distinctly territorial character. The The property is divided into about forty small parcels, located in 7 famous villages of the Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs regions: Pierry, Moussy, Epernay, Dizy, Mardeuil, Boursault, and Vertus. The approach to viticulture is characterized by great respect for nature. The soil between the rows is covered with grass, and no chemicals are used. Following maximum attention in the vineyard, careful parcel vinifications take place to highlight the peculiar character of each single vineyard and to ensure a great variety of vins clairs at the time of creating the cuvées.
The Champagne Extra Brut "Quintette" by J-M Seleque is a refined expression of the best Chardonnay from the domaine, made only with grapes from old vines of particular quality coming from 5 selected parcels. The fermentations take place separately for each plot in steel tanks, with the addition of 20% of wines aged using the Solera Method. After the creation of the blend, refermentation takes place in bottle according to the Méthode Champenoise, with a minimum aging period sur lattes of 48 months. In the glass, it presents itself with a bright straw yellow hue with brilliant golden reflections. On the nose, it expresses fragrant aromas of citrus, aromas of ripe yellow fruit, spicy hints, softness of honey and pastry, iodized and mineral memories. On the palate, it is rich and harmonious, broad and creamy, anticipating a fresh finish characterized by savory and chalky notes.
