The Champagne Grand Brut is the historic jewel of the Perrier-Jouët house, the first Brut created by the prestigious Maison in its quest for perfection and absolute refinement. It was born in 1856 from the noble intuition of reducing the amount of sugar in the dosage to better highlight the elegance of the cuvée and thus win over the English clientele, distinguishing itself from other Champagne labels, which at the time were still tied to old and standardized flavors.

The Champagne Grand Brut Perrier Jouët is made from a blend consisting of 40% Pinot Noir, another 40% Pinot Meunier, and 20% Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir grapes, which give the final sparkling wine structure and vinosity, come from the Grand and Premier Cru of Mailly, Versy, Aÿ, and Rilly-la-Montagne. The Pinot Meunier grapes, with their fruity and seductive aromas, come from the terroirs of Dizy, Damery, Venteuil, Vincelles, and Vinay. The Chardonnay, with its fresh and mineral character, comes from the Grand Crus of Cramant, Avize, Les Mesnil, and Chouilly. To achieve perfection, the cuvée is mostly made up of wines produced in the current vintage and for just over 10% from reserve wines of previous vintages. After refermentation in the bottle using the Champenoise Method, a long aging period follows: 3 years in the historic chalk cellars of the Maison that extend underground along the Avenue de Champagne in Epernay.

Thus, the Grand Brut of Perrier Jouët is born, an elegant and delicate Champagne, fresh and lively, rich in fabulous fruity and floral aromas of lemon, bergamot, linden, and honeysuckle, with slight notes of butter and vanilla.
