CHIANTI CLASSICO GRAN SELEZIONE 'BADIA A PASSIGNANO' ANTINORI 2019 DESCRIPTION

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "Badia a Passignano" is a wine with a marvellously enveloping, soft flavour, corroborated by persistent, silky tannins and a range of intense and varied aromas. A Chianti with a capital 'C', with which Antinori confirms itself as a point of reference in Italian oenology, thanks to bottles where quality is always expressed on noteworthy values. A label with which one always goes on the safe side, ideal as a gift for all those who are passionate about great Tuscan reds.

The red wine Gran Selezione 'Badia a Passignano' is a Chianti Classico that is made from the pure grapes of a great red grape variety, Sangiovese, which finds in Tuscany one of its preferred terroirs. The bunches of grapes, carefully selected during the harvest by the Antinori team, are destemmed and softly pressed once they reach the winemaking facilities. Alcoholic fermentation then takes place, which continues for about 10 days. Finally, after racking, the wine is put into wood to undergo malolactic fermentation and, after racking, it is aged in Hungarian oak barriques for 12 months.

This "Badia a Passignano" is a Chianti Classico Gran Selezione that, to the eye, presents itself with a red colour reminiscent of ruby shades. The bouquet of aromas enveloping the nose is interesting, composed mainly of hints of ripe fruit and sweet spices. On the palate it is full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a perfectly balanced sip, also distinguished by a good persistence on the finish. A bottle with which Antinori confirms itself on excellent levels of quality, as testified by the scores obtained not only in the Italian field, but internationally.
