Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Borgo Scopeto 2019

The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from Borgo Scopeto is the pinnacle of the estate, produced with Sangiovese grapes from the most prestigious vineyards harvested only in the best years. Stylistically, the winery seeks great extraction, the maceration is particularly long and precedes the lengthy aging between oak and bottle, for at least 30 months in total. On the nose, it is broad, with a side of black forest fruit and hints of noble wood, vanilla, cocoa, and licorice. On the palate, it is dry and well-structured, austere and elegant, with a balanced freshness and a fine and very persistent tannic texture, ideal with a nice rare Florentine steak.
