The "Chora Rosso" from the L’Acino winery is a Calabrian wine made from the native red grape variety Magliocco. It is a label with a craft flavor, created with the desire to showcase the most authentic, genuine, and sincere face of quality Calabrian wine, in its utmost expressive integrity. The choice of vinification solely in steel fits into this perspective, allowing the varietal characteristics of the Magliocco to always take center stage. It is a red with exuberant fruit, a sunny and Mediterranean profile, inviting a sip of great pleasure and immediate taste.
The "Chora Rosso" wine is born in the hilly area of San Marco Argentano, located in the deep inland of Cetraro Marina, in the province of Cosenza. The L’Acino winery is a new reality in the Calabrian wine scene and was established with the precise intent of rediscovering and giving voice to the millennia-old tradition of one of the lands with the most ancient winemaking vocation of our peninsula. The production is aimed atthe enhancement of the historic grape varieties of the territory and the creation of wines with a straightforward and genuine face. The eleven hectares of vineyards are managed by following the principles of biodynamics, fully respecting the harmony between the vineyard and the surrounding nature. All winemaking processes are oriented towards minimal human intervention and maximum enhancement of the varietal characteristics of the grapes.
The "Chora Rosso" L’Acino is a wine that originates on the Tyrrhenian side of the Calabrian coast, from Magliocco vines cultivated at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, using only indigenous yeasts. Before bottling, the wine rests in steel tanks for about ten months. In the glass, it presents an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses a bouquet characterized by aromas of ripe red fruit, floral nuances, and delicate spices. The sip is juicy and smooth, with crunchy fruit and a lively tannic texture. The finish is balanced, with good persistence and freshness.
