The Ciliegiolo from San Ferdinando is a fresh and spicy red wine, aged for 5-6 months in steel. On the nose, it offers notes of plum and marasca cherry, while the palate is a millimetric balance between softness and freshness, with pleasant tannins.

The Ciliegiolo San Ferdinando is a red wine produced from one of the least known yet most typical grape varieties of the region, Ciliegiolo. A blend of spices, earth, and red fruits, it comes from vineyards that extend over 10 hectares in the heart of Val di Chiana, a reality rich in winemaking tradition, history, and art. The mastermind is the Grifoni family, which since 2009 has launched a quality production that encapsulates modernity and ancient tradition. The production philosophy is based on a deep respect for the fruit and the land, working with traditional techniques and minimizing the use of herbicides and pesticides. The result is an authentic and clean red that embodies the tradition and typicality of this valley.

Produced from the homonymous indigenous grape Ciliegiolo, historically used in blends in Chianti, it is offered here in purity to enhance all its most typical characteristics of freshness and spiciness. The grapes grow in vineyards located on clayey soils, rich in skeleton and potassium, with a climate characterized by harsh winters and a significant temperature range at night. The harvest is carried out manually with careful selection of the grapes. The must obtained is vinified in steel, where it continues to mature for 6 months.

San Ferdinando Ciliegiolo explodes in the glass with an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it expresses all its fruity nature with elegant hints of plum, currant, cherry, and sour cherry, seasoned with dark and oriental spices. A sip of pleasant freshness, equipped with silky tannins and a discretely persistent finish. A young red, with easy drinkability and decent structure, to be perfectly paired with first courses based on tomato sauces and red meats. An oenological expression typical of Tuscany that perfectly reflects the most traditional soul of this land.
