Domaine Les Genestas - Estézargues produces the Côtes du Rhône Rouge from the grapes of the parcel that gives its name to the winery, derived from the widespread presence of Spanish broom shrubs, "genet" in French. The blend is a greatly immediate expression of the southern Rhône region.

Côtes du Rhône Rouge from Domaine Les Genestas - Estézargues is made from the classic blend of the typical varieties of the French Mediterranean coast, in the area between the Rhône river and the Gardon stream, in line with the city of Avignon located a few kilometers to the east and within the full area of the Chateauneuf-du-Pape denomination. The vines of Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan are between 28 and 80 years old and grow on soils characterized by red clays with a presence of small stones. They are cultivated according to the principles of organic farming, rejecting any synthetic products, for which certification is in progress. The harvest takes place manually at the moment of full ripeness of the fruits, transported to the winery in small crates. After pressing, the must is sent for spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks, conducted solely through indigenous yeasts, with maceration on the skins for about 3 weeks. The blend is approximately composed of 40% Grenache, 35%, and 15% Carignan, leaving room for a small balance for Mourvedre and the extremely local Counoise. The aging extends for 10 months in enamelled steel tanks and bottling is done without filtration, nor clarification or stabilization.

Côtes du Rhône Rouge from Domaine Les Genestas - Estézargues presents itself in a ruby red color, with violet reflections of amethyst. The aromas are intense and complex, announced by a surprising smoky note that envelops fruity hints of cassis, blackberry, dried orange peel, and a nuance of sweet spice. On the palate, it reveals itself soft and delightfully balanced between the fruity expression and the firm tannin, with spicy and citrusy final hints. It is a highly drinkable interpretation of the Rhône, perfect for any barbecue.
