The Dolcetto d'Alba by Luciano Sandrone is the most genuine and immediate wine of the tradition of this renowned winemaking reality. Sandrone's Dolcetto relies on a trio of vineyards that ensure consistency and quality in every vintage: the secret lies in the blends that manage to convey the sweetness and softness typical of the grape variety.
The vineyards of the Sandrone winery, at the foot of Barolo, are all trained in Guyot, not weeded, and cultivated according to organic principles. The vines from the three crus from which the grapes for this Dolcetto come have an average age of 30 years and are located at an altitude of 420 m above sea level. The maceration takes place in steel for up to 9 days, while fermentation, also in steel, lasts up to 14 days, where aging will also follow, in order to preserve freshness and balance.
The intense ruby red color already shows to the eyes a Dolcetto of a certain structure and intensity. The nose releases freshly picked red fruit, such as cherry. On the palate, it is fresh, with aromas consistent with the nose, where all the cherry and the notes offorest red fruit, sweet and soft, like the tannins. A perfect wine to drink now or in a couple of years, with fine cured meats, white meats, risottos, and even fish dishes.
