The Bolgheri Rosso "Il Bruciato" by Guado al Tasso is a full-bodied and intense red wine, aged for some months in barrique. It is one of the most famous expression of the world, always appreciated for its impeccable qualities. Warm and silky tones bring out hints full of forest fruits, red berries, herbs and balsamic spices
Bruciato is among the most symbolic and famous wines from the Guado al Tasso winery, owned by the legendary Antinori family. It is a red wine from the prestigious Tuscan area of Bolgheri, made from a blend of French grape varieties, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Syrah, which in these lands reach a very high quality. The name comes from a forest that in the 1700s was totally burned down by the inhabitants of the area as a sign of protest against the noble Della Gherardesca family, at the time lords of Bolgheri, who forbade farmers to hunt in it.
This Bolgheri il Bruciato is produced each year within the Antinori family's Guado al Tasso estate, located about 80 km southwest of Florence, on the rolling green hills that envelop the ancient village, in an area with a unique microclimate that alternates between night and day with good temperature swings, allowing the grapes to reach perfect ripeness. The wine "Il Bruciato" is the breath of the wind, the strength of the earth and the passion of man, it is the demonstration of how these hills generate visual and gustatory emotions. Selected grapes are brought to the winery where they are destemmed and softly pressed. This is followed by fermentation and maceration on the skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel for about 10 to 15 days. A portion of the Merlot and Syrah is fermented at lower temperatures to maintain varietal aromas and typical flavor. Malolactic fermentation takes place in steel and finishes in barrels. At the end of this phase, the wines are blended and mature in barrique for several months before being bottled and aged in glass for another 4 months.
The Bruciato Antinori encapsulates, with the innate elegance due to its noble origins, the soul of an ancient terroir. The softness of the perfume of the soft breeze, which skims Bolgheri and its hills, is dressed in the glass with an intense ruby red and exudes a whirlwind of sensations of small red fruits, such as cherry and blackberry, which intertwine with nuances of sweet spices, accumulated during the passage in wood. On the palate, elegance, softness and balance are the pillars of a full and rich sip, with a pleasant envelopment. A seductive red, capable of gracefully and elegantly recounting the scents of a story of refinement and success.
