Montepulciano d'Abruzzo wine comes from the work of one of the most representative realities of Abruzzo. Gianni Masciarelli's winery has been producing great wines for more than 30 years, enhancing the native grape varieties of the territory, especially Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, which is offered in several interpretations that are very different from one another. The classic version is the one that remains most faithful to the varietal notes of the grape variety. The sourcing of grapes from various plots, located in different areas of the estate, at different altitudes with particular microclimates, allows each year to create a harmonious and balanced blend. This is precisely the secret of this wine, the ability to express a consistently high level of quality and extraordinary drinking pleasure every year.
Masciarelli Montepulciano has a typically territorial character, the child of the generous Abruzzo soil and of a vine that for centuries has dwelt on these wonderful hills that connect the Apennines to the Adriatic Sea. The grapes come from several vineyards cultivated on clay and limestone soils in S. Martino sulla Marrucina at an altitude of 400 meters, Ripa Teatina at 250 meters, Fara Filiorum Petri at 300 meters and Villamagna at 280 meters. After vinification in red, with maceration on the skins for a couple of weeks, it matures in stainless steel tanks for about 20 months. In the glass it is deep red in color with youthful purplish highlights. The olfactory picture expresses fragrant aromas of red fruit, floral nuances and slight hints of oriental spices. The sip is pleasant, fresh and enveloping, juicy and rich, supported by a pleasantly dense tannic texture. An impeccable interpretation to get to know the younger look of Montepulciano!
