Etna Bianco "San Lorenzo" is a mineral and delicate white wine, made with Carricante grapes and other local varieties that grow at high altitudes on the sandy soils of the Great Volcano. The nose has a fine and very mineral olfactory profile, with suggestive notes of white-fleshed fruit, citrus, and pleasant floral sensations. It reveals a slender and dynamic body, with great progression and freshness, and a clear mineral trail

The Etna Bianco “San Lorenzo” by Girolamo Russo is one of the most prestigious labels from the famous Sicilian winery. Made from fine Carricante grapes, complemented by a small percentage of Catarratto, Grecanico, and other ancient indigenous Sicilian varieties, it is the pure expression of the terroir of one of the most renowned contrade in the northern area of Etna. It is produced in just over a thousand bottles a year, crafted with artisanal care, and offers the emotion of savoring an exclusive wine that is part of the elite of the best whites from Etna.

“San Lorenzo” is an Etna Bianco that originates from one of the most famous estates on Etna. Girolamo Russo manages vineyards in the Passopisciaro area, on the northern slope of the volcano, with parcels located in different contrade. The wine is born from a selection of indigenous white grape varieties found among the rows of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, as per the ancient tradition of mixed vineyards. The plants are over 80 years old and their roots delve into volcanic soil, volcanic matrix, predominantly made up of sands, very rich in mineral substances. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level, in an area with a cool climate, characterized by significant temperature fluctuations between sunny days and cold nights. The harvest is carried out manually in the first half of October, and the grapes undergo a gentle pressing. At the end of the classic white winemaking process, the wine matures for 6 months in tonneau and in second and third passage oak barriques.

The Etna Bianco "San Lorenzo" by Girolamo Russo is the pure expression of a famous Contrada, which has always produced wines with a typically mineral character, clear and intense. It presents in the glass a beautiful light yellow color with brilliant golden reflections. It captivates the nose with a bouquet characterized by fragrances of lemon zest, ripe citrus, hints of orange blossom, white flowers, and aromatic herbs, aromas of white-fleshed fruit, green apple, cartucciaro melon, and mineral hints of graphite and flint. On the palate, it is tense and savory, with a delicate fruit and a long finish of vibrant freshness. Already excellent to taste right away, it reaches full maturity after a few years of aging in the bottle.
