The Etna Rosato by Girolamo Russo comes from grapes Nerello Mascalese. The bouquet recalls notes of pomegranate and wild strawberries that alternate with hints of broom; the sip is supported by a big boost savoury and mineral, with a lingering finish and great freshness

Girolamo Russo's Etna Rosato is a wine of great freshness, offering the limpid fragrance of ripe fruit and the iodine and marine scents of Sicily. The cool climate of the volcano is perfect for making great rosés, elegant, refined and pleasantly citrusy. High-quality grapes and carefully executed processing make for a very interesting label that ranks among the best of the area's excellences. Its aromatic delicacy makes it perfect to enjoy with seafood hors d'oeuvres, shellfish, seafood first courses or even with a pizza margherita.
The Rosato Etna di Girolamo Russo is a wine produced by a family-run winery, which has retained a typically artisanal face. The estate is located on the northern slope of the volcano, in the Passopisciaro locality, and has several high-value plots in the districts of San Lorenzo, Feudo, Calderara Sottana and Feudo di Mezzo. The rosé is made from pure Nerello Mascalese grapes from a selection of old vineyards in the San Lorenzo district at an altitude of around 700 metres above sea level. The vines are about 80 years old and are trained either as alberello or espalier vines, on sandy soils of volcanic origin, very well drained and rich in minerals. Harvesting is done manually at the beginning of October, slightly in advance, in order to preserve the right freshness needed to obtain a great rosé. The grapes are pressed very gently with brief contact on the skins and the must is then vinified in white with spontaneous fermentation and indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for six months.
The Etna Rosato wine, produced by the Girolamo Russo winery, highlights the vocation of the terroir to also produce excellent rosés. The fine aromatic characteristics of Nerello Mascalese and its soft colour make it particularly suitable for rosé vinification. To the eye it has a beautiful, luminous light pink colour. The nose expresses delicate aromas of small red berries, raspberry, redcurrant, cherry, hints of citrus and floral nuances. Fragrant and juicy, it offers a rich, ripe fruit palate, well balanced by a lively mineral freshness.
