The Etna Rosso by Tornatore is a medium-bodied Sicilian wine with a beautiful personality, featuring aromas of berries, sour cherries, and spices, and a full, savory, and juicy palate. It matures for about 12 months in large barrels and is characterized by an excellent quality/price ratio.

The Etna Rosso from the Tornatore winery is a juicy everyday wine, a true synthesis of purity and minerality given by the unbreakable bond between Nerello and the Sicilian volcanic soil. Nerello Mascalese, also nicknamed the Nebbiolo of the south to indicate its finesse as well as its aging potential, is a true interpreter of the territory regarding the Etna wine-growing area, and is often complemented by a blend of Nerello Cappuccio, which gives it a bit more body, as in this case. The Tornatore family has a long tradition, having been able to create convincing interpretations of one of the Italian grape varieties with the greatest potential since 1865, always maintaining a commendable balance between modernity and attention to their wine roots.

The Etna Rosso wine from Tornatore comes from the union of the two indigenous grape varieties par excellence of the Etna area, namely Nerello Cappuccio and Nerello Mascalese. The grapes come entirely from the northern slope located in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia, and after manual harvesting aresubjected to careful selection. After destemming and a light pressing, maceration occurs in cement tanks that lasts for about 10-12 days. Once fermentation is complete, the grapes remain to macerate for a few more days, and after racking, they age for one year in large wooden barrels and three months in the bottle.

The Etna Rosso presents itself in the glass with a bright ruby color, immediately captivating. The nose is of great richness, but expressed in an extremely gradual and whispered manner. Small red fruits, mineral bursts, and citrus peel continuously alternate, outlining a profile of vibrant territoriality. The volcanic soil speaks even during the tasting, endowed with soft and seductive texture, but enlivened by a salinity that can only be offered by the combination of Nerello and its favored area. A small gem to choose as an everyday wine. Unmissable.
