The Felcerosso produced by the Ligurian winery La Felce is a wine with a straightforward, direct, and immediate character. A sincere glass with a typically territorial taste, marked by a refreshing drinkability. Made with a blend of indigenous and international red grapes, it expresses pleasantly fragrant fruity aromas.
The red Felcerosso is produced by the La Felce winery, located in the hilly area of Castelnuovo di Magra, in the Riviera Ligure di Levante, between La Spezia and Massa. The estate has a total area of just over 5 hectares. The white grape varieties are cultivated in the wonderful strip of coast between the sea and the first hilly reliefs of Lunigiana, while the reds are produced from the vineyards located in Ortonovo. The winery is a small family-run business that still produces wines with a craft spirit. The goal is to pass down the customs of the territory and a style linked to healthy and good everyday wine. The vines are about 45 years old and are cultivated using the spurred cordon and Guyot methods, on soils characterized by the presence of sands and pebbles, with a density of 5000 vines per hectare. At the end of the manual harvest, fermentation takes place spontaneously in cement tanks, with a skin maceration of 5 days.
The Felcerosso from the La Felce winery is a simple and young red, aiming to bring attention back to the most genuine and typical aspects of wine, in its pleasantly fruity expression. The color is ruby red. On the nose, it opens with aromas of red fruit, scents of Mediterranean scrub herbs, floral nuances, spicy and herbal sensations. The taste is vital and energetic, with a fruit that is still pleasantly intense and crunchy, fine tannins, and a fresh and savory finish.
