It is a cuvée made up of a majority of Chardonnay with a small balance of Pinot Nero and Pinot Bianco. At the end of the aging on the lees, the wine retains a profile that expresses delicate floral notes, fragrant citrus and fruity aromas. It is an ideal label to enjoy at the time of the aperitif or with delicate fish appetizers.
The Franciacorta Contadi Castaldi is a bottle produced by an important winery in Franciacorta, established in the early '90s at the initiative of Vittorio Moretti, already owner of Bellavista. The spaces of an ancient furnace turned out to be perfect for the aging needs of the Metodo Classico. Contadi Castaldi quickly made a name for itself for its innovative spirit in the Franciacorta landscape and for focusing heavily on the most typical and identity-driven type of the denomination: the Satèn. Thanks to the decades of experience gained with the brand Bellavista, Contadi Castaldi has quickly established itself among enthusiasts as a guarantee of quality. Its wines perfectly express the unique character of the Franciacorta territory.
The Franciacorta Brut Jeroboam by Contadi Castaldi is made from a selection of Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, and Pinot Bianco grapes, sourced from vines about twenty years old grown in various plots of the Franciacorta area. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for about 3 weeks. The base wines rest for 7 months, partly in steel and partly in wood, with partial malolactic fermentation. The second fermentation occurs in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico, with a sur lattes aging of about 24 months. In the glass, it presents a light yellow color, crossed by a fine and continuous perlage. The aromas recall orange blossom, aromatic herbs, citrus fruits, white-fleshed fruit, and delicate spicy nuances. The taste is delicate and savory with a remarkable length towards a finish of beautiful mineral freshness.
