FRANCIACORTA BRUT NATURE 1701 DESCRIPTION

Franciacorta Brut Nature 1701 is a creamy, dry and persuasive bubble, a classic method made from grapes cultivated following the dictates of biodynamics. That's right, because the 1701 winery, located in Cazzago San Martino, holds a record, namely that of being the first winery in Franciacorta to be inspired by Rudolf Steiner's biodynamics, and the results are truly astonishing, or perhaps just the worthy consequence of serious and loving work. More than three centuries of history in Franciacorta, with an approach in the vineyard that bans the use of any chemical or synthetic substances, while in the cellar, spontaneous fermentation of the base wines and ageing on the lees, even quite long. Expressive originality and uniqueness are the cornerstones on which the company's philosophy is based, and in the glass the wines speak, or rather tell!

The 1701 Brut Nature is a Metodo Classico made from a blend consisting mainly of Chardonnay and a small balance of Pinot Noir, from vineyards cultivated in the Franciacorta area. Only a few hectares are planted with vines, only four, and the grapes are sorted and harvested by hand, with subsequent destemming and first fermentation that takes place spontaneously in steel containers, with pied de cuvée of indigenous yeasts. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle, as is customary in classic methods. Maturation lasts 30 months on the lees.

Brut Nature 1701 appears in the glass with a pale straw-yellow guise and an extremely fine and persistent bubble. It unveils, from the first smell, fresh and elegant hints of citrus peel, chamomile, golden apple and French boulangerie. Great harmony and expressive gradualness, which are also revealed on tasting. A sip that is striking in its definition and ability to be both creamy and endowed with momentum. A transversal bubble, a must in the cellar
