FRANCIACORTA ROSÉ BRUT CONTADI CASTALDI DESCRIPTION

Contadi Castaldi's Franciacorta Rosé Brut was born in Adro, in the province of Brescia, the heart of Franciacorta. The winery was founded in 1987 with Vittorio Moretti and his wife Mariella, who decided to convert the old furnace into a winery for wine production: a renovation was carried out to provide ample space for the wines to age, covering a total of 7000 square metres; a space for parties and events was also created that can hold up to 300 people. The work philosophy is focused on enhancing the intrinsic potential of the land, taking great care of each grape variety. The result is a quality, balanced product destined to achieve perfect harmony.

The vineyards of Contadi Castaldi's Franciacorta Rosé Brut are located in a ventilated and exposed position with soils composed mainly of pebbles and limestone; they are draining, perfect for the roots of the plants to absorb the necessary nutrients. The climate is continental with cold winters, often affected by snowfall, and hot, sultry, sometimes dry summers. The grapes are harvested manually between the end of August and the beginning of September; in the cellar, the bunches undergo soft pressing and cold maceration for three to four hours. This is followed by alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts for 20 days in steel and a partial malolactic fermentation. It matures for 7 months in steel and then in barriques; it then matures for 24 to 30 months on the lees and for 3-4 months after disgorgement.

The colour of Contadi Castaldi's Franciacorta Rosé Brut is a coral pink with brilliant, luminous reflections and a fine, persistent perlage. The bouquet of aromas is reminiscent of wild berries, rose petals and final nuances of ripe tropical fruit, together with the characteristic crust of freshly baked bread; in the mouth it is structured, enveloping and creamy, with good sapidity on the finish that lures the drinker. Interesting with sushi and sashimi dishes, smoked fish, crustaceans and molluscs; also perfect with mixed cold meats of medium seasoning. Perfect for celebrating important occasions or romantic occasions and enjoying an authentic and refined product in the glass.
