Tomassetti's "Fricò" is a macerated white, with a two-day skin contact. The Tomassetti brothers produce a fresh, artisanal 'orange,' fermented with the winery's indigenous yeasts. In addition to hints of ripe fruit and herbs, there is the distinct and typical iodine sensation reminiscent of the sea. Savory, aromatic and drinkable, the slight presence of tannins allows this white, though not full-bodied, to marry well with light white meats, such as turkey or chicken.

The ‘Fricò’ by Tomassetti is an orange wine of exceptional grace and taste fluidity, far from the model of very warm and structured macerated white wines. The Tomassetti estate was launched in 2015 by Andrea and Matteo Tomassetti, brothers from a farming family that instilled in them a love for the land. Matteo is responsible for the agronomic and oenological aspects while Andrea handles the commercial side, backed by his degree in Economics.

Tomassetti ‘Fricò’ consists of a blend of Trebbiano (80%) and Verdicchio (15%), combined with 5% of the aromatic grape varieties Malvasia and Moscato. The vines, characterized by an average age of 55 years, grow on sandy-limestone soils and are cultivated under organic farming integrated with biodynamic practices. The harvest is done by hand in crates and the bunches are then transferred to the winery for destemming and maceration in stainless steel tanks. The alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously thanks to the intervention of only indigenous yeasts, accompanied by 2-3 days of skin maceration. The subsequent maturation phase takes place on the fine lees in cement tanks for about 6 months until the final bottling.

To the eye, the orange wine from Marche ‘Fricò’ by Tomassetti shows a light orange hue. The aromatic profile encompasses scents of ripe peach, yellow apple, wildflowers, and freshly cut grass, with pleasant iodized notes in the background. Fresh and very savory is the taste, characterized by a slight tannic sensation that does not compromise its drinkable character and aromatic persistence. This macerated white wine represents an excellent pairing with medium-aged cheeses, various seafood dishes, or even delicate white meats.
