Friulano Russiz Superiore 2025
The Friulano from Russiz Superiore is a white wine from Collio with great territoriality and typicity, vinified in steel and for a small part in wood. On the nose, it reveals fresh and fragrant notes of white flowers, bitter almond, apple, and aromatic herbs, while on the palate it captivates with its fresh, vibrant, and elegant body, with light mineral notes
The Friulano Russiz Superiore is a white wine endowed with great finesse and a saline finish, as well as a flag bearer of the regional wine. The bond between the Felluga family and their land of origin runs deep, boasting a true dynasty of winemakers who, since the second half of the 1800s, have been able to intuit and enhance the immense winemaking potential of those borderlands, namely Istria and Collio, and consequently their extraordinary native grape varieties. However, it is after the 1950s that there is a true leap in quality in production, thanks to the work of Giovanni Felluga and subsequently his son Roberto, who brought the Friulian winery to worldwide recognition, contributing to the achievement of the right fame that Collio enjoys today. Pioneers.
The Russiz Friulano is produced with pure grapes of the homonymous variety from vineyards located in the municipality of Capriva del Friuli at altitudes ranging from 80 to 200 meters above sea level. The wine comes from one of the oldest local white grape varieties, manually harvested by the family Felluga to carry out a selection of the best available bunches. In the winery, cold maceration and separation of the must continue, which ferments 15% in oak barrels and the remaining part in steel. It ages for 8 months on the lees before bottling.
The Friulano wine presents itself in the glass with a light straw-yellow color and greenish reflections. An extremely typical nose, which finely intertwines notes of toasted almond, hawthorn, acacia, and golden apple. Corresponding to an intricate olfactory profile is a soft and enveloping taste, elongated by a truly remarkable saline texture that enhances its gastronomic versatility. A great white wine of the territory.
