Frizzante Bianco 'La Maggiore' Rallo 2024

The Trapani winery Rallo presents the Sparkling White ‘La Maggiore’, a bottle-fermented wine made from pure Grillo grapes, appreciated for its lively and cheerful personality. This family-run estate based in Marsala is particularly dedicated to the production of white wines, of various types and different styles, primarily starting from Grillo grapes. The agronomic management focuses on respecting the seasonal cycles and applying the sustainable practices outlined by organic farming. Embracing this productive vision, in three different locations in western Sicily, the Vesco family, owners of the winery, cultivates wheat and olive trees, in addition to the vine.

‘La Maggiore’ Rallo Sparkling White is a 100% Grillo from vineyards cultivated under certified organic management in the municipality of Marsala, particularly in the area of the Stagnone Reserve. The vines, trained in the Marsalese bush style, were planted in 2001 on medium-textured soils, facing south and located at an altitude of just 50 meters above sea level.sea. Following the harvest, carried out manually at the end of August in 15-kilogram crates, the bunches undergo a soft pressing, followed by alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After about 8 days of fermentation, it is interrupted by a sudden drop in temperature, while the subsequent malolactic fermentation is encouraged. The aging always takes place in steel, in containers where the wine rests for 6 months until the final bottling.

The Sparkling White ‘La Maggiore’ by Rallo has a slightly cloudy straw-yellow color. On the nose, it expresses notes of tropical fruit such as papaya and mango, combined with hints of pear, lemon, grapefruit, and thyme. Fresh and lively tasting, with good complexity, as well as a light and dynamic finish.
