Gavi Villa Sparina 2024
The Gavi from Villa Sparina encapsulates all the freshness, fragrance, and richness of the Cortese grape. It is aged in steel and expresses a pleasant fruity swirl of citrus, white-fleshed fruit, and tropical notes against a floral and slightly mineral background. On the palate, it proves to be vibrant, straight, and crisp, infused with a mineral vein and a fresh citrus note.
The Gavi di Villa Sparina is a Piedmontese white wine that originates from the beautiful and sunny hilly area of the municipality of Gavi. We are in Lower Piemonte, towards the Ligurian border, where the sweet influence of the sea can already be felt. In these lands, always dedicated to viticulture, the Cortese grape expresses itself with particular finesse and elegance. It is a label that interprets the territory by enhancing the savory freshness and the refined fragrance of a grape with great potential and versatility. The floral, citrus, and fruity notes captivate from the very first sip. It is an ideal bottle to enjoy with a seafood appetizer or with delicate fish dishes.
The white Gavi di Villa Sparina is one of the most prestigious labels of the territory. In a region known for its great reds, it is not easy for a white grape to carve out an important space in the wine scene. Only due to its undeniable qualities has the Cortese grape managed to attract the attention of enthusiasts as one of the most interesting whites of
northern Italy. The vineyards of Villa Sparina are about 30 years old and are located at an altitude of about 250-300 meters above sea level, on soils made up of clay marl. The grapes are gently pressed and the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18 °C for about three weeks. Before proceeding to bottling, the wine rests for a few months in steel tanks.
