Gewurztraminer Endrizzi 2024

The Gewurztraminer from the Endrizzi winery is a white wine aromatic, intense, and enveloping produced in the Masetto area, in San Michele all'Adige in the province of Trento, from one of the oldest and most historically rich wineries in the Trentino region. It is made from pure Gewurztraminer grapes, a variety also known as Traminer Aromatico, sourced from the Masetto and Maso Kinderleit vineyards. The vines are cultivated using the Guyot method on hills with porphyritic and carbonatic soils characterized by significant temperature variations between day and night. The winery, family-run for four generations, is now managed by Paolo Endrici and his wife Christine, a German-born architect who designed the new areas of the winery with great attention to the landscape and environmental sustainability.

The Endrizzi Gewurztraminer is produced from hand-harvested grapes, collected exclusively at the moment of their full phenolic ripeness, in order to enhance its aromatic component. Once in the winery, the bunches are pressed and the resulting must is cold macerated for a few hours in steel tanks, before the actual fermentation takes place. At the end of the process, the skins are discarded and the free-run must undergoes alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers. Subsequently, the wine is racked and remains to age in steel on its own lees for several months with frequent batonnage.

The Gewurztraminer from Endrizzi presents itself with an intense straw-yellow color with golden highlights. A very elegant and attractive color that invites you to get to know it. On the nose, it is intensely aromatic with tropical fruit aromas reminiscent of lychee, floral notes of rose, spicy hints, including pepper and cloves, and whiffs of wild herbs. On the palate, it is soft, enveloping, and full-bodied. The finish is long, persistent, and slightly almondy. A beautiful, seductive expression with a feminine posture.
