'Giorgio Primo' La Massa 2019

The “Giorgio Primo” La Massa is a prestigious Bordeaux blend, which rightfully ranks among the best labels of this type of wine produced in the land of Tuscany.  It is the flagship wine of the estate, a Supertuscan made with a meticulous selection of the best grapes coming exclusively from the most suitable parcels of the estate. It is an elegant, complex, deep wine, born to last over time and to give splendid emotions to those who know how to wait.

The wine “Giorgio Primo” from La Massa is the result of the desire to create a label of absolute excellence in the splendid territory of Panzano in Chianti. The clay and galestro soils particularly suited, the wonderful hillside exposures, at 350 meters above sea level, the cool and breezy climate, constitute the premises on which a great wine rests. Only after careful zoning work and evaluation of the grapes from the various vineyards, were the parcels chosen for the production of ”Giorgio Primo”. The harvest in small boxes is followed by a rigorous selection in the cellar on the sorting table. Only the best grapes are sent for fermentation, which occurs spontaneously using only indigenous yeasts. The wine matures for 18 months in new oak barriques for 80%. Only after careful tastings is the final blend defined, which after bottling rests in the cellar for several months before being put on sale.

The red “Giorgio Primo” from La Massa confirms every year the absolute quality now achieved by this extraordinary label. A Supertuscan that originates in the Chianti Classico area, capable of illuminating the region with excellence. The color is intense red. The olfactory profile presents great complexity and elegance with aromas of small dark berries, hints of jam, nuances of aromatic herbs, spices, leather, and tobacco. On the palate, it has a remarkable structure, with a tannic texture of great finesse and a very persistent finish with pleasant freshness.
