Greco di Tufo 'Giallo d'Arles' Magnum Quintodecimo 2024
Perfect to give as a giftThe “Giallo d’Arles” is an intense, rich, and complex Greco di Tufo, aged in steel and barrique. It has a yellow color so deep and bright that it recalls Van Gogh's Sunflowers, painted in Arles. The aromas evoke peach, summer yellow fruit, honey, and dried fruit. The taste is full and intense, balanced and persistent. An absolute reference Magnum in its category!
“Giallo d’Arles” is the structured and mature Greco interpreted by Quintodecimo, an expression of the powerful solar intensity and the extreme chromatic concentration that one of the symbolic varieties of Irpinia is capable of enclosing. The Greco grapes that Quintodecimo vinifies to create “Giallo d’Arles” come from a vineyard that is identified by the same name as the label and that extends in the Santa Lucia area, within the territory of the municipality of Tufo, deep in the Irpinia region. The planting was done in 2001 on land characterized by a composition of clay and limestone, at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level and oriented with a south-west exposure. The harvest is done by hand at the moment of full aromatic ripeness of the fruits, around the second decade of October, with collection in 15-kilo crates. In the winemaking cellar in Mirabella Eclano, the whole bunches are pressed slowly: the free-run must, protected from oxygen, is left to clarify by natural decantation. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel tanks for 70% of the mass and in new oak barriques for the remaining part. The aging extends for a period of 8 months in steel on the fine lees, strictly kept in suspension, and bottled without clarifications in order to preserve its emblematic color.
“Giallo d’Arles” by Quintodecimo presents a dazzling and decidedly intense golden hue. The nose has great depth and expresses tones of ripe and juicy yellow fruit: melon, apricot, and peach meet notes of quince in jam and an impressive mineral endowment. The structure is confirmed on the palate with remarkable thickness and richness, offering a powerful yet refined sip, balanced by saline threads and
