Grignolino 'Vicini' Jean Yves Peron 2018

The Grignolino “Vicini” by Jean Yves Peron is a wine that the Savoyard Jean-Yves produces with Piedmontese grapes at his cellar in Albertville, a sign of love for Italy and a way of creating a wine with a full Alpine identity. A red that starts off delicately, but slowly shows great intensity. Flowers and red fruits are perceived on the nose, intriguing hints of rosehip and sage on the finish. Waiting a few moments, the sip reveals power, warmth and great breadth and persistence

GRIGNOLINO 'VICINI' JEAN YVES PERON 2018 DESCRIPTION

Jean-Yves Péron's Grignolino "Vicini" is a French wine produced in Savoie, just a few kilometres from the border with Italy. Jean-Yves decided to pursue his passion for the world of wine and embarked on a journey worldwide, learning about different traditions and winemaking methods that he would later apply in his own venture. In 2017, he officially began the winemaking process in his cellar, bringing his first bottles to market with the assistance of Paolo Angelino and Giorgio Barbero, two winemakers who shared their expertise.

The grapes for Jean-Yves Péron's Grignolino "Vicini" are grown on soils predominantly composed of clay and limestone, producing wines with an elegant structure and character. The principles of biodynamic agriculture are preferred to fully respect both the surrounding ecosystem and the stages of development and maturation of the raw material. The vineyards are located on steep slopes that are difficult to reach with machinery and draft animals, so the care of the plants is entirely carried out manually. In line with this work philosophy, in the cellar, alcoholic fermentation is initiated by the action of indigenous wood yeasts, where the wine also ages for a few months before bottling.

In appearance, Jean-Yves Péron's Grignolino "Vicini" presents itself with a pale ruby red colour with hints of garnet. The bouquet offers scents of red flowers like roses and fruity hints of raspberries and wild roses. On the palate, it is elegant, intense, and broad, with well-integrated tannins that enhance the drinking experience. It pairs perfectly with mixed cold cuts, cured meats, grilled red, and braised white meats. It is also excellent with seasonal vegetable dishes.

This wine is both easy-drinking and suitable for family gatherings, making it a wonderful choice for sharing authentic and genuine flavours.
