Grillo 'Diamanti' Feudo Principi di Butera 2025
The Grillo from Feudo Principi di Butera is a Sicilian white with a exquisitely Mediterranean profile, vinified exclusively in steel. The broad and delicate olfactory profile is enlivened by hints of citrus, pineapple, and small wild herbs, interwoven with lively savory veins. On the palate, it is fresh and agile, easy-drinking and savory, with pleasantly menthol echoes in the finish.
The Grillo "Diamanti" by Feudo Principi di Butera loves to speak of itself by telling the territory from which it originates. The olfactory analysis reveals a range of aromas that recall the famous and much-appreciated citrus fruits cultivated in Sicily, then relaunching the concept of "terroir" with notes that hint at the Mediterranean scrub that characterizes the island's landscape. The palate is linear and precise, very dynamic. A label that, once opened, risks finishing too quickly.
The "Diamanti" Grillo originates from vineyards located at an altitude above sea level between 250 and 350 meters. The terroir is characterized by a white matrix, with a calcareous composition. The grapes, harvested following manual picking, are immediately transferred to the winemaking facilities of the winery, where they are destemmed. Subsequently, the berries undergo a gentle pressing phase, and the must obtained from this operation ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, ranging between 16 and 18 degrees. The final aging continues in steel for a few month, a period during which the wine remains in contact with the fine lees.
The Grillo "Diamanti" by Feudi Principi di Butera presents itself to the eye with a typically straw-yellow color, crossed by shades that settle on a very light greenish hue. The olfactory spectrum is orchestrated around subtle notes, where exotic fruit and citrus intertwine with references to aromatic herbs, typical of the landscape surrounding the vineyards. On the palate, it flows with great ease, favoring a simple drink from which a mineral vein emerges; in the finish, a slight menthol flavor is also perceived. A white perfect for all seasons, which also has the merit of presenting itself with a favorable quality-price ratio.
