The Grillo "Passiperduti" is a white wine of great freshness and sapidity that originates in southwestern Sicily. On the nose, it is rich in citrus, lavender, broom, and hints of the sea, while on the palate it is direct, elegant, and delicate, with appreciable smoothness. To be tried with raw fish!

The Donnafugata Estate presents "Passiperduti," a new interpretation of pure Grillo, which complements the historic label of "SurSur." Unveiled in preview during Vinitaly 2022, this new white wine highlights the distinctive floral characteristics of the varietal, but aims to emphasize with greater vigor the mineral expression and full structure. The label's design aligns with the company's poetic vision, evoking a bucolic reference to the serenity of simple rural life.

Donnafugata produces "Passiperduti" by vinifying the pure Grillo grapes from the territory of the Tenuta Contessa Entellina, in the owned plots of the western part of Sicily, selecting the high hillside parcels located at altitudes between 400 and 500 meters above sea level. The soils are fundamentally clayey and loamy, with a notable presence of limestone and great richness of dissolved minerals, while the climate is mild and constantly ventilated, characterized by significant daily temperature fluctuations. The harvest is carried out by hand, generally between the end of August and the beginning of September, with the first selection of grapes directly in the field. In the winery, soft pressing and fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 14 and 16 °C. After racking, the Grillo ages in stainless steel for a period of 3 months, followed by an additional 3 months in bottle before being released on the market.

“Passiperduti” from the Donnafugata estate offers a bright view in its straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose is captured by intense and complex aromas, ranging from floral notes of broom and balsamic lavender, to citrus hints of candied cedar and tropical lime, finishing with clear mineral nuances of flint. The rocky part is evident on the palate in the long saline breeze, intertwined with a smooth freshness and soft notes that hint at ripe fruit. An intriguing white, which can be thought of paired with seafood crudo as well as vegetable lasagna.
