“Hebo” from the Tuscan winery Petra is a intense and sunny red wine with an international profile. It is produced in the wonderful hilly area of Suvereto, in a part of Tuscany that is proving capable of expressing very interesting wines. It is a blend with rich and complex aromas, made with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a small percentage of Sangiovese. The Bordeaux varieties have been grown in these lands since the early 19th century, and both along the Tuscan Coast and in the first inland areas, they reach full ripeness with clusters of excellent quality. The name on the label refers to the location of an ancient Etruscan settlement that was located right in the Suvereto area.
The red “Hebo” is born in the Tuscan estate of the Moretti family, who also own Bellavista in Franciacorta. Petra is the realization of the dream to engage with great red wines, particularly with Bordeaux models. The 60 hectares of vineyards are located in Val di Cornia and are managed under organic farming practices, within an unspoiled context.and rich in biodiversity. The vineyards of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sangiovese are about 15 years old and are cultivated at high planting density in the San Lorenzo area, on soils composed of clays and sands, with limestone presence. The grapes of the three varieties are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks, spontaneously and with only indigenous yeasts. The wine matures for 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels and in a small part in used barriques of second and third passage. After bottling, it completes the aging with six months in the company cellars before being released on the market.

The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, aided by a touch of Sangiovese, have taken on a warmer and riper character in Suvereto, which uniquely defines its personality. The wine presents itself with a dark ruby color and releases intense aromas of currant, cherry, blueberries, hints of violet, and notes of aromatic herbs from the spontaneous Mediterranean flora.spontaneous Mediterranean flora.
