The Hermitage "Chante-Alouette" is a prestigious and elegant expression of Marsanne in the territory of the Rhone Valley. The result of aging in steel and large wooden barrels, this white wine expresses a limpid and linear aromatic picture, punctuated by aromas of pear, honey, citrus and a touch of oriental spices. It envelops the palate with its silky and harmonious texture, allowing a pleasant mineral freshness to emerge.

The Hermitage Blanc “Chante-Alouette” by Michel Chapoutier is made with pure Marsanne, a white grape variety historically grown in the Rhône Valley. It is a white wine with a strong personality, distinguished by a warm and sunny profile, rich and harmonious, complex and dense with seductive aromas. The partial aging in wood makes it mature and broad, particularly suited for important pairings with shellfish, fish in sauce, spicy dishes, noble poultry, mushrooms, and white truffle. It is recommended to try it with a platter of flavorful medium and long-aged cheeses.

“Chante-Alouette” is an Hermitage Blanc by Michel Chapoutier produced with a selection of the best plots of the estate. The Marsanne grapes used to produce the cuvée come from three different vineyards cultivated under biodynamic farming: Le Méal, characterized by very ancient alluvial and morainic soil rich in pebbles, Les Murets, characterized by clayey-gravelly soils that give richness and structure to the wine, and Chante-Alouette, a parcel located at altitude on soils composed of loess and granite disintegration, which help enhance the notes of freshness and sapidity. All three parcels are located near the lieu-dit l’Ermite and enjoy perfectly sunny exposures. The grapes are hand-harvested at full ripeness. After a gentle pressing, the must is sent for fermentation, partly in steel tanks and partly in 600-liter wooden barrels. The wine matures for several months, with 30-50% in steel tanks and 60-70% in wood.

The Hermitage Blanc “Chante-Alouette” by Michel Chapoutier is an excellence of the Rhône Valley, the highest expression of an ancient denomination rich in history and legends. It is an ideal bottle for those who love whites with good structure and also characterized by good aging potential. In appearance, it has a beautiful bright golden color with brilliant reflections. The olfactory profile captivates with intense, complex, and mature aromas, reminiscent of floral notes of lime and wildflowers, aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, candied citrus peel, honeyed softness, hints of fresh almond and ginger. The taste is broad, elegant, finely nuanced, with a harmonious, savory, and persistent finish.
