Insolia 'Evrò' Rallo 2024
Organic and biodynamicThe Insolia "Evrò" by Rallo is a harmonious, young, and delicate Sicilian white wine with a noble and dignified character, obtained from old vines in the Alcamo area and vinified only in steel. Seductive sensations of citrus, white fruit, and yellow flowers invite a coherent and balanced sip, with excellent minerality.
The Insolia "Evrò" by Rallo is a harmonious and balanced label that, due to its graceful, delicate yet characterized by personality and energy, has been dedicated to Queen Bianca of Navarra from the House of Evreux, known more simply as the White Queen, who was regent of Sicily between 1402 and 1441. She went down in history as a noblewoman of great grace and beauty who, having been widowed at a very young age, showed strength, courage, and great intelligence in managing her power, becoming the most desired queen of her time, surrounded by suitors and sought in marriage by the powerful across Europe. Expressive delicacy, seductive personality, and noble bearing are the attributes that also characterize this white wine produced by Cantine Rallo, a pure expression of the most typical white grape of the Alcamo territory, considered by some scholars as the oldest indigenous Sicilian.
The Evrò Insolia is born from old vines from the Alcamo territory, planted in 1975 and currently cultivated in certified organic farming. They are rooted in a sandy soil at 350 meters above sea level and exposed to the north and northeast, thus facing the horizon from which the Bianca di Evreux once came to govern Sicily. In the winery, the production process involves soft pressing and alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, with a final aging of at least 6 months.
The Evrò by Rallo well expresses the harmonious, elegant, and reserved character of the Insolia. The purely Sicilian expressiveness is linked in this case to a noble composure with Nordic and albino traits in a unique and fascinating union, thus summarized on the label, next to the depiction of the Castle of Alcamo: "Bianca di Evrò, sovereign of rare beauty. The bride shines in opulent land". It offers aromas of white fruit, citrus, aromatic herbs, and chamomile flowers and reveals, on the palate, consistency and balance, as well as a beautiful mineral thickness that deepens the taste. It is recommended to pair with noble fish dishes, seafood, and crustaceans, as well as caviar and lobsters but also, more simply, appetizers and starters.
