The Lagrein from Cantina Terlano is an Alto Adige red wine aged for about 10 months in large oak barrels. It presents itself with a dark garnet red color and expresses aromas of red blueberries and sour cherries, enriched by notes of violets and bay leaf, while on the palate it is full and pleasantly winey, with excellent harmony and a delicate tannic texture that makes it velvety and at the same time refreshing.

The Lagrein from Cantina Terlano offers in one sip all the typicality of the Alto Adige territory. The winery, as often happens in Alto Adige, is a cooperative formed by 143 members and all the vineyards - a total area of 140 hectares - extend from the valley floor up to the slopes of Mount Zoccolo at 900 meters above sea level. The area is between Bolzano and Merano, and one of the strengths of Cantina Terlano is precisely the study of the soil and the pedoclimatic conditions for each grape variety: finding the most suitable corners so that the grapes can express themselves at their best. Lagrein is one of the most well-known red wines of the region, and it is capable of acquiring unexpected nuances.

Cantina Terlano Lagrein derives its grapes from the vineyards located in the valley floor, along with other red grape varieties. The soil is made up of porphyritic rocks with the presence of quartz, and the top layer features stones and sand. The harvest is manual and the bunches are carefully selected. The grapes are destemmed and then fermented in steel tanks inox. This phase occurs slowly and at a controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation is also carried out, followed by aging the wine for 7/10 months in large oak barrels.

The Lagrein Terlano is characterized by a dark, intense garnet red. The nose reveals quite clear notes of red fruit, sour cherries, and red blueberries. Floral notes of violet and lily intertwine, while more delicate hints of bay leaf and chocolate are also perceived. Sipping this Lagrein, we find consistency with the previous aromas, where the fruity notes also stand out in the mouth. The sip is elegant and velvety, it is a pleasure that glides while leaving a mark. The tannin is indeed refined and delicate, weaving a non-obvious and, indeed, attractive texture.
