Ariola's Lambrusco Grand Cru "Marcello" is a wine with a vivid and fresh profile, striking for its richness of aroma and its immediacy and ease of drinking. It encapsulates a "very rare amount of technique, passion and nature"; it is a Lambrusco that is light and fragrant and at the same time deep and long. Marcello Ariola is a jewel of the Emilian lands, which year after year has won over critics and won several national and international awards and prizes. At first regarded as a popular and little esteemed wine, today it has carved out a place for itself among the most symbolic wines of our entire peninsula, making itself appreciated for its spontaneity and simplicity. The Ariola winery, founded in 1956, is located in the hills between Felino and Langhirano, in the heart of the Food Valley and the Colli di Parma DOC area. The winery has always decided to take the path of quality, with lower yields and minimally invasive agronomic practices that are careful and respectful of the environmental system. All these measures have contributed to the creation of wine like Lambrusco's "Marcello," with a decisive territorial imprint, personal and characteristic, which allows it to emancipate itself from the standardized taste, the result of excessive technology. After all, when tradition and love for the land become passion and art, a unique and generous expression is born, the daughter of the most authentic good drinking of Emilia Romagna.
Marcello Lambrusco Dry comes from vineyards overlooking the foothills of the Po Valley, rooted on silty-clay soils between 220 and 300 meters above sea level. The terroir of the area is unique and rare, presenting the perfect conditions for growing grapes. The gentle slope favours optimal sun exposure and good soil drainage. Therefore, the grapes of the Lambrusco Maestri variety can ripen perfectly and develop a typical aromatic complement. They are harvested and selected in the vineyard and gently transported to the winery in order to keep all the precious juice intact. After a second sorting of the bunches, pressing is started. The first fermentation in steel is followed by refermentation in an autoclave according to the Charmat/Martinotti method. After a few months of bottle ageing and the wine is ready to sit at the table.
Marcello Grand Cru Lambrusco Spumante has a deep ruby red colour with a creamy rosy mousse. It presents a rich, intense mousse and a fine-grained, persistent perlage. Rich hints of fragrant, crisp and juicy red fruits capture the attention. At first, it flaunts a fruit salad of berries, cherry, pink grapefruit and pomegranate wrapped in floral notes of violet and rose. This is followed by soaked vinousness, mentholated echoes, blood orange effluvia, whiffs of underbrush and hints of fresh herbs. The sip is direct, brisk and snappy, driven by a synergistic freshness and a light savoury texture. The palate is pleasant, vital and mouthwatering, irresistibly drinkable, enlivened by a graceful, rich bubble. A bottle of great gastronomic versatility to spend on local and traditional Emilian dishes for an unforgettable experience!
