Langhe Rosato L''Astemia 2023
Organic and biodynamicL''Astemia's Langhe Rosato comes from Nebbiolo grapes harvested from young Barolo vineyards, organically grown. It is an elegant rosé, produced in steel to preserve the aroma and freshness typical of this noble grape variety. The soft pink colour anticipates delicate hints of cherry, with spring-like notes of fresh violets. The palate is full-bodied with a harmonious structure, pleasantly tannic combining softness and freshness, excellent with fish or meat dishes
The Nebbiolo Rosé from L'Astemio represents a fascinating stylistic challenge: to reinterpret the nobility of Nebbiolo, usually destined for great reds meant for aging, in a fresh, fragrant, and exuberant guise. This wine is born from the desire to explore the more delicate and hidden soul of the principal grape of the Langhe, bringing aromatic nuances to the glass that traditional red winemaking would tend to conceal. It is a tribute to the versatility of Nebbiolo, designed for those who wish to approach this iconic grape through a dynamic and immediate interpretation, without giving up the structural complexity that distinguishes it.
The Nebbiolo Rosé from L'Astemio comes from vineyards located between 420 and 450 meters above sea level, with a southern exposure. This location ensures excellent brightness and an ideal temperature range to preserve freshness. For this wine, the winery selects the clusters from the younger vines, where the fruit's vivacity is predominant. Vineyard management aims to achieve a perfect balance between acidity and sugars, allowing Nebbiolo to express its natural sapidity and a mineral profile typical of the Langhe terroir.
In the winery, the Nebbiolo Rosato from L'Astemia undergoes a soft pressing of the grapes, followed by a 'white' vinification to extract only the heart of the must and a delicate chromatic hue. The aging process continues with six months of refinement in steel, a fundamental technical choice to maintain the varietal purity and the tasting tension of the wine, avoiding woody interference. The result is a high-quality rosé, which skillfully harmonizes enveloping softness with vertical tension and remarkable persistence.
