Lugana Patrizia Cadore 2025
The Lugana by Patrizia Cadore is a white wine based on Turbiana produced on the shores of Lake Garda, on soils rich in mineral substances that give a natural savor to the sip. The olfactory bouquet is played on tones of dried fruit, primarily almond, yellow-fleshed fruit, and aromatic herbs; the sip is straight, dry, and enveloping, with an elegant acid-salty finish.
The Lugana from the Patrizia Cadore winery is a young and fresh white wine produced in Pozzolengo, a municipality in the province of Brescia located in the southern part of Lake Garda, fresh and breezy, almost on the border with the Veneto region. This label is made from pure Turbiana grapes, also known as Trebbiano di Lugana, an indigenous white grape variety that has been cultivated in this area for centuries. The vineyards, located on gentle morainic hills overlooking the lake, benefit from the favorable microclimate of Garda which, thanks to its temperate breezes, manages to soften the winter temperatures while keeping the vineyards ventilated, preventing the formation of mold and/or fungal infections. The soils where this Lugana is born consist of a varied composition of calcareous clays, rich in mineral salts, capable of giving the wine extraordinary minerality, structure, and also longevity.
The Lugana from Patrizia Cadore is produced from grapes hand-picked around September. Once at the winery, the bunches undergo soft pressing and alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel containers at controlled temperature for a few weeks. At the end of fermentation, the wine is racked with the elimination of any suspended solid particles, after which the wine remains in aging in stainless steel containers for a few months before being filtered and bottled.
The Lugana from the Patrizia Cadore winery presents itself with a straw yellow color with some greenish reflections. On the nose, there are delicate aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, including peach and plum, notes of white flowers, hints of aromatic herbs, and dried fruit, including almond. On the palate, it is straight, vertical, enveloping, and mineral with a slightly almond finish. A harmonious and well-structured expression of the most widespread white grape variety of Garda.
