The Malbec "Puro" by Ojo de Vino originates in Argentina, in one of the most beautiful and prosperous areas near Mendoza. The founder of the winery is the artist and musician Dieter Meier, who decided to invest in the production of excellent quality wines, with charisma and character that could encapsulate all the potential of the Argentine land. The production philosophy is to adopt organic practices among the vines, in order to respect the raw materials and the surrounding environment, with the idea that nothing should be left to chance, but that everything should fit into a project of territorial enhancement.
The pure Malbec grapes of "Puro" Malbec by Ojo de Vino are cultivated on an area of about 2000 hectares of vineyards in the countryside near Buenos Aires. There are sudden and significant temperature changes between day and night, ensuring that the grapes fully ripen on the vine. The sunlight is constant, and the soils are of desert origin, allowing for a good yield in the vineyard without significant variations from year to year for regarding quantity. The soil is predominantly of limestone origin, which guarantees good structure to the wines. The harvest is conducted manually; fermentation takes place in steel tanks and concrete vats; it ages for several months in steel and no sulfur is added.
The Malbec “Puro” by Ojo de Vino presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby red color. The aromas recall dark red fruits like blueberries, currants, and plums with a spicy finish. On the palate, it reveals a substantial structure with evident tannins that integrate well; it reveals a pleasant final freshness that invites sip after sip. It pairs perfectly with stewed meat dishes, with traditional Argentine cuts of meat, with eggs and savory pies with vegetables.
