MALVASIA PUNTINATA 'FATÌA' PALAZZO TRONCONI 2018 DESCRIPTION

Malvasia Puntinata 'Fatìa' constitutes a white wine with a fragrant and balanced character, produced by the artisanal winemaking reality Palazzo Tronconi. Malvasia Puntinata represents a historic grape variety from Latium, also called not surprisingly Malvasia del Lazio, belonging to the vast Malvasia family, which includes as many as 17 different varieties registered in the National Register of Vine Varieties. The name "Malvasia" derives from the Greek town of Monemvasia, located in the Peloponnese, where these vines originated. It was later the Venetians and Genoese who spread the grapes throughout the Italian peninsula. Instead, the appellation "puntinata" refers to the characteristic brown spots and dots that cover the berries. In Arcese diletto, the term "fatìa" means "effort."

Lazio's white wine 'Fatìa' Palazzo Tronconi Malvasia Puntinata is produced from only grapes of the variety of the same name grown in accordance with the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture on limestone-clay soils, about 150 meters above sea level. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, and the grapes are then transferred to the winery for spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in steel tanks. The ensuing one-year maturation period also takes place in steel and precedes bottling. Throughout the entire process, the liquid does not undergo any stabilization, clarification or filtration.

Palazzo Tronconi Malvasia Puntinata 'Fatìa' has a golden yellow color with greenish highlights. The nose has rich and intense perceptions of white-fleshed fruit, flowers and citrus fruits, while the sip is full and balanced, fresh and savory, with a long and harmonious finish.
