"Marius" Rouge is a red wine with a fresh and dynamic character made in Languedoc Roussillon from a blend of Grenache and Syrah. On the nose, it has aromas of forest berries, red flowers, and a light spicy trail. It has grit and tension, with a smooth and slender sip, animated by a lively freshness.

“Marius Rouge” from the winery of Michel Chapoutier is a cuvée born from the desire to create a young and fresh red, yet capable of expressing the generous richness and aromatic complexity typical of wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon region. It is made with a blend of Grenache, which contributes pleasant fruity aromas, and Syrah, which provides structure, power, and its typical spicy notes. The result is a very harmonious and complex wine, capable of maintaining a clear smoothness, remarkable vitality, and energy.

The wine “Marius Rouge” is produced by one of the most famous producers in France, who has managed to establish himself in the international wine scene thanks to courageous choices that have led him to apply, since the 1980s, cultivation practices respectful of the territory and to later embrace biodynamics. The Syrah and Grenache vines are cultivated on well-sunlit clay-limestone slopes, which retain underground water reserves to face even dry periods.

Thanks to the use of rootstocks particularly suited to the soil, the vines push their roots to descend very deep. The harvest begins with Grenache, which is picked while avoiding overripening to preserve the fruit's freshness. The Syrah is harvested at full phenolic maturity. The two grape varieties are vinified separately, with fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and a maceration period on the skins of about ten days with gentle pump-overs. Before bottling, the wine matures on fine lees in stainless steel tanks for about 5-8 months, depending on the characteristics of the vintages.

“Marius Rouge” by Michel Chapoutier is a smooth red, entirely played on the varietal characteristics of two great grape varieties from southern France. In appearance, it presents a deep purple-red color, with youthful violet reflections. Fragrant and fruity, it expresses intense and rich aromas of blueberry, blackcurrant, blackberry, raspberry, vegetal nuances of Mediterranean scrub herbs, floral notes of violet, and delicately spicy hints, with the characteristic touch of black pepper from the Syrah. The attack on the palate denotes a good structure, with a fine and silky tannic texture, mature and complex aromas, dense and broad, which offer a pleasantly satisfying fruity sip and good taste persistence.
