Perfect to drink every dayThe Merlot by Paladin is a Venetian expression of one of the most prized Bordeaux grape varieties. Aged in wood, it presents a bright ruby red color, accompanied by intense winey and fruity aromas of currant, ripe plum, and cherry. The palate is soft in tannins and very harmonious, with a long and pleasant persistence.
The Merlot from Paladin is a fine interpretation of this classic French grape variety originating from the Bordeaux area. Merlot has been cultivated since the 19th century in the regions of Triveneto and particularly in the border area between Veneto and Friuli. In the territory of the Lison Pramaggiore denomination, it has found the pedoclimatic conditions to express itself very well, with mature and particularly harmonious wines. This interesting label is proof of that, faithfully returning the varietal character of the grape. The brief passage in wood, in fact, softens the youthful edges, without compromising the generous expressive immediacy of the fruit.
The Paladin Merlot is born in a family-run winery, which has managed to carve out an important place thanks to a production of wines faithful to the traditions of the territory and made with the grape varieties historically present in the region. The Paladin estate is located in a privileged position. The climate is mild and sunny, influenced by the breezes from the Adriatic Sea and the soils are of a calcareous-clay matrix, particularly suitable for the most famous international grape varieties. The wine is produced with a selection of grapes grown in the estate, which is located in the countryside of Annone Veneto, in the plain between the Piave and Tagliamento rivers. At the end of the harvest, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Before proceeding to bottling, the wine matures for a few months in steel and in large barrels.
The Paladin Merlot wine is a young and fresh red, which expresses the character of this noble Bordeaux grape variety very well. In the glass, it has a ruby red color with bright and shining reflections, revealing its youth. Fragrant and fruity, it opens up to the nose with floral scents of violet, aromas of cherry, small dark berry fruits, marasca, and ripe red plum. The sip is smooth, with fine, elegant tannins and an appealing and rich fruit, which unfolds harmoniously and velvety towards a fresh and balanced finish, with good taste persistence. It is a perfect red for those who love wines with a welcoming profile, which are based on their success on an agile drink.
